So I had an interesting start this morning...

As I was getting off the bus heading to work I tripped on some protruding tree roots right outside the bus and fell forward onto the pavement. Lost one shoe (got it back as soon as I stood up), scraped my hands, bloodied my left knee and torn my pants at said knee. What was really funny about it was that one of my coworkers was on the same bus and I didn't see him until I got off. He turned around when he heard me falling and was more shocked about it than I was.

The one good side to being klutzy is that you're never surprised when you fall. =D

May or may not be totally obsessed with the Harry Potter musical at the moment.

Just spent the last 2 hours tagging every single entry in LJ.

For someone who doesn't post a lot I sure have a lot of entries. XD

It's strange reading back but I am glad I at least documented some parts of my life. Certainly reminds me when certain things happened. It is also chilling reading some of the posts in hindsight, like this one post I made in 2006 worrying about my grandparents' health. That was also the first summer I spent WoWing and didn't leave the house much. They've both passed away now and it gives me chills thinking that I spent that entire summer in Taiwan playing an online game instead of spending time with them, even though I was well aware of the fact that grandpa's health was deteriorating.

Also, for some reason I started locking more of my posts after 2007. Very odd considering most of my previous posts are open and the contents are remarkably similar. I've gone back and open some of the posts.

Anyways, maybe I will post more often now that I realize it is useful to document my life. If nothing else, I can look back with clarity.

My cousin gave birth to a little boy on Saturday! He's the first next generation kid to be born to my Dad's family and is probably going to be spoiled rotten. XD Very cute kid.

I'm baaaaack!

Ok, I've actually been back for 3 days now but that's not the point. The trip was awesome. Everyone meshed very well together. I guess it helps that we've been talking to each other almost every night for a year and a half.

Well, I'm off for my trip of the US. I'll be back on the 14th.

Have to say, while I'm extremely excited to do this, it's a little stressful too to have planned a large portion of it by myself.

Anyways, I go now and to have fun. =D

Heading Home [Jul. 31st, 2008|02:11 pm]
[Tags|, , , , , , , , ]

Bah, so I ended up not posting at all the 5 weeks I was here. Not surprisingly.

Been spending a lot of time with my cousin Sean. He's 12, and demands that I play with him everyday afterschool from 12-8. This means I've been playing a lot of video games. We beat Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance II by the middle of the 2nd week. A handful of racing games, a series of very amusing Indiana Jones and Star Wars games in Lego form, Wii sports and Rabbid (alien rabbits who like to wreak havoc using toilet plumbers). But most importantly, Final Fantasy XII. Love the characters, plots and the new style of game play (not that I've played that many of the newer FF but I've seen others play).

On the days when we're not being video game nerds, we did go watch a couple of movies. Kung-Fu Panda was very good and pretty hilarious. The 12th Conan movie, on the other hand, was kinda a let down again. The 11th one wasn't great so I didn't expect much of this one. It had its moments and it's better than the 11th one but it was still a meh.

Anyways, heading back to Vancouver tonight. Will arrive in the evening on the same day (the wonders of time difference).

After that on Aug. 4th, I'll be on a trip to the US for 10 days with a friend to visit guildies from WoW. I'll be stopping by Sacramento, maybe San Francisco, Los Angeles and then Asheboro, NC (random, I know). Never thought the first internet friends I would personally meet would be from WoW. It's exciting and entirely too nerdy for my own good probably but I'm looking forward to it.

I've arrived safely and all.

The plane was completely packed and we were surrounded by 4 babies where we sat. Surprisingly I still slept for at least 8 hours. :D

Off to kill play Baldur's Gate on the uncle's xbox.

Just a quick note to say that I turned 20 today. :D

Not that I feel any different from yestertday but the number is significant by itself and that is a good enough reason to be happy about it.

HAPPY NEW YEAR! [Jan. 1st, 2008|05:57 pm]

Happy 2008! ^________^

Had a huge dinner last night... then nearly missed midnight until people started yelling outside my window. XD

Christmas was relatively uneventful and most I did for it was eat. The party people from high school had on the 23rd was more exciting. Got a Mokona plushie from the gift exchange. It is furry, squishie and huge compared to its actual manga size.

Three ways you know the exam you just took was terrible: [Dec. 7th, 2007|04:54 pm]
[Tags|, , ]
[mood | anxious]

1) You spent 40 minutes attempting to solve a question that you did not manage to solve by the end of the exam period.

2) After the prof says pencils down, people immediately started traded ways in which they tried to solve problems.

3) After the discussion on attempts to solve problems, your friend turned to you and said, "I hope the scaling is good."

Conclusion: The math exam was terrible.

I think I failed math. -_________________-

Let's just say it was a combination of it being the most unfair exam I've ever taken plus last minute studying/cramping.

(and yes I am aware that I havn't posted anything in awhile, hi guys, but I really don't feel like elaborating right now.)

*falls asleep at the keyboard* [Sep. 5th, 2007|10:01 am]
[Tags|, , , , , ]

School has started  and I have got most of the books and materials I need (go me! one less thing to worry about). I have 3 chemistry classes and labs this term which is probably going to screw me over at some point. I also have 4 hour breaks on Tues and Thurs and the occasional Wed and Fri when I don't have labs. And that is the reason why I'm posting this at school in the middle of the morning. =D

However, I've been really tired because school starts at 8 for me now which means I need to wake up at 6:30. I'm not a morning person at all. -_- It makes me braindead in the evenings. Plus I think I still have some kind of jetlag left over. It makes me really sleepy in the afternoon andI would nod off in bio.

Yesterday, I went ahead and unsubscribed my Warcraft account (sorry Becky!). They do keep my characters though so I can go back to play anytime.

Noooow, for the long awaited Hokkaido trip review. :D

It was a sight-seeing tour. We spent a lot of times commuting on the bus in mountains. They have very lovely green trees in the hills and several beautiful lakes which were all part of a national park and therefore big tourist attractions. We spent most of our nights in onsen hotels so the rooms are very Japanese and have very small bathrooms (it's like in one piece, toilet, sink and shower, all in one).

There are several animals that the local aboriginal people, the Ainu, worship and this is naturally reflected in the souvenir shops in Hokkaido. There are lots of owls, foxes, and this type of algae called marimo. There was also a crane museum that displayed information on a rare type of crane native to Hokkaido. The best part of the museum though, is its soft cream.=D In fact, Hokkaido seem to love put soft cream stands in all tourist attractions and they make them with local flavours of lavendar and melon.

For me, the food is the best part of the trip though. I loved the food. They have the best milk and diary products like ice cream and pudding and cream soup.

I have a backlog of things I would like to record like my Hokkaido trip, my CSI dvd viewing, how I watched Ratatouille and Bourne Ultimatum and how I worry about my grandpa's failing health. But I am having a headache and my flight back to Vancouver is tomorrow afternoon so I need to go do some packing.

So yeah, will post after I get back. See you people then.

Edited to add: Have I mentioned my anxiety for not being prepared for school?

A vacation during a vacation! [Aug. 8th, 2007|08:14 pm]

The best kind really. :D

I'm off to Hokkaido with my family tomorrow. So my internet access is probably non-existence during the next 5 days. This will be the first time I visit Japan since that short and mostly forgotten trip taken when I was 5.

Kind of disappointed that we're not going to one of the big cities that I've heard so much of but this is Japan nontheless, and hopefully we'll have fun.
